Well Organised Friendly Race
A well organised and marshalled race. Everyone was very friendly and encouraging
Great event, fantastic marshals and the combo of distance and hills made for a nice challenge
Loads of encouraging marshals along the route, and still smiling despite the rain. The course was well sign posted. The road crossing management was exceptional this year, they were really active in trying not to hold up the runners which is no mean feat on some busy roads.
My only downside was the bag drop, my bag and all it's contents were soaked through and covered in mud (the bag not the contents) so dry clothes to put on. A gazeebo to put the bags under or in would have been much appreciated.
Thanks for a cracking event.
Well organised, great road-safety management, and well-marshalled. Just need to work on flattening those hills :-)
Great route, friendly atmosphere
Really enjoyed this. Well organised, friendly fellow runners, and stunning scenery when you get up onto the Pilgrims Way. Quite hilly but it does give you some good downhill stretches to zoom down!
Great fun first half marathon. Hills.
Really good first half marathon experience. Loads of friendly and helpful marshalls. Very well run. Only issue was lack of toilets. Very hilly course but a great test.
Well organised event over a challenging course
Hilly but good course
Great race well organised and well Marshalld would definitely recommend
Great Half Marathon
Thank you to all the volunteers, marshals & anyone else that helped! You all did an awesome job & helped make a great half marathon event! Great medal, great crowd… shame there were only 488 participants
Amazing day
Was my first half marathon event and was an amazing day thank you to everyone involved
Great event, top marshals, combo of distance and hills made for nice challenge
Loads of encouraging marshals along the route, and still smiling despite the rain. The road crossing management was really good this year, they were really active in trying not to hold up the runners which is no mean feat on some busy roads.
Thanks for a cracking event.
As advertised... great atmosphere, inclusive for all, there is promised hills - there is. Lovely scenery and very well marshalled with enthusiastic support by so many along the route.
I might be rather biased but I have always loved Maidstone half.
Thank you all x
Good event
Too many hills
Thoroughly enjoyable
Shout out to the Marshalls! Superb, thank you x
Well organised..
Really great course with awesome scenery, albeit a bit hilly... It makes the course unique.
Hilly but Fun
I enjoyed the half, although lots of crossing roads and confusion about what side of road to be on. I ran 21:29km, With all my weaving about.
Bag drop was a little unorganised compared to other events I have done, perhaps better away from race pack collection.
Only other comment would be the addition of pacers, as a particularly difficult course to pace yourself, especially for beginners.
Quality event
Great challenging course, I must return next year
Marvellous Maidstone Half
Nothing could be of fault from start to finish everything was faultless. Great atmosphere wonderful route taking in the Kent countryside
Well organised, beginner friendly event.
900ft elevation gain - great scenery
It's a bit hilly but the route is lovely and there were marshals at road crossings to stop the traffic.
I avoided the sausage dog convention that got in the way of some runners in the last mile, but I saw them milling around at the finish. I don't think the race organisers can be blamed; the dog walkers could have been more considerate.
Smallish event, friendly. Don't delay entry too long (sold out - no on the day entries in 2023).
I hope to be back again next year.
Very well organised, hilly course
I really liked this run. It was very well organised with brilliant, encouraging marshals. It was very well signposted. It might have been helpful to have had more info in the pre-race briefing on parking as I wasn't sure whether we would have to pay but it was good to have marshals organising the parking. The only negative thing was the huge number of dogs and their owners walking alongside the last bit of the course from Moat House as I finished (in 2:07:30). Although most of the dogs were on leads some of them were on quite long leads and I almost tripped over both people and dogs as I came towards the end. It was extremely dangerous and a nasty accident could have occurred. It would be much better to separate the runners from the dog walkers and perhaps re-route one group or at least have barriers between them.
On a more positive note ,it was nice to have apples and tangerines at the finish line which made a change to bananas.
